About Burn Ban Texas

Burn Ban Texas (burnbantexas.com) is an independent, free informational service that publishes the current outdoor burn ban status for all 254 Texas counties, updated every day from the Texas A&M Forest Service statewide burn ban dataset.

What we do

What we are not

We are not a government agency and have no affiliation with the Texas A&M Forest Service, TCEQ, or any county. Burn ban orders are issued and lifted by county commissioners courts, sometimes faster than statewide data updates. Always verify with your county fire marshal, sheriff's office, or county judge's office before burning. See our full disclaimer.

Data

Status data comes from the Texas A&M Forest Service public burn ban dataset and is refreshed daily (last refresh: July 25, 2026 at 10:42 AM CDT). Legal references: Texas Local Government Code §352.081 (county burn bans) and 30 TAC Chapter 111 (TCEQ Outdoor Burning Rule).
